Damages Automation Software for Litigation |
Breakthrough technology reads discovery documents, extracts data and automatically generates damages reports, saving clients considerable time and expense. |
CRANFORD, N.J., January 17, 2025
- Evigent, an expert witness consulting and software firm, today announced the launch of DamagesPro℠, its newest application that automates damages analysis and reports for disputes asserting securities-related losses. DamagesPro helps litigators more efficiently determine damages directly from documents, applicable to the prosecution or defense of related claims.
DamagesPro saves clients considerable time and expense, compared to manually extracting and processing relevant data from discovery documents — a process at greater risk for data entry errors that can cascade into flawed testimony.
“Calculating damages can be a time-consuming process, especially if the source data must first be extracted from voluminous production documents,” said Stu Rosenthal, creator of DamagesPro. “By extracting the information automatically from the documents, DamagesPro all but eliminates manual data entry, resulting in a more accurate and cost-effective approach to litigation damages.”
DamagesPro uniquely combines investments and damages expertise with AI-enhanced technology, to systematically classify, extract and process the datasets needed to calculate account-based damages.
“Stu Rosenthal has created yet another groundbreaking application for our industry," said Bob Lawson, President and Managing Principal of Barrington Financial Consulting Group, Inc., a growing Minneapolis based securities and insurance litigation support consulting firm. "With DamagesPro and our partnership with Evigent, we look forward to helping clients automate litigation damages, saving them time and expense."
The proprietary software uses a simple drag-and-drop web interface whereby the user selects one or more investment documents for upload to the system. DamagesPro then parses each file, classifies it, and systematically extracts key data points, needed for the analysis and damages calculation.
Within minutes, a customized report is generated, comprising a profit / (loss) statement and damages analysis that is specific to the account information extracted from the uploaded documents.
“DamagesPro is the culmination of robust methods and algorithms I’ve developed and used for many expert engagements,” said Rosenthal, a consulting and testifying expert witness. “With DamagesPro, I sought to standardize and scale the process, resulting in a cloud-based software service for litigators and expert witnesses alike.”
DamagesPro is optimized to work with native documents sourced from an investment broker/advisor. It also has an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature for PDF documents lacking text recognition.
The automated damages reports generated by the software can constitute draft demonstratives, providing an objective basis for expert testimony.
DamagesPro is available through a licensing arrangement, or included as part of an expert witness retainer agreement.
